For Essay 4, I will more than likely bring in to class a writing assignment from one of my Psychology courses. The essay will contain personal information comparing to the information learned throughout Psychology. For the most part, writing in each of my psychology courses is the same as the writing in Writing For College Success. Both of the courses require APA or MLA format, requiring a thesis statement and body paragraphs. When it comes to writing, I have gotten more comfortable with essays as the years progress. I truly believe that the more you write, the better writer you will become. The skills that are most transferable from our class to this assignment are creating an effective thesis statement with supportive body paragraphs. No matter what class you are writing for you must have correct grammar and spelling. This is a skill that is important across the board for each course, as well, as in our everyday life.

Based on the peer review feedback, I plan to re-word a couple of my sentences, as needed. Overall, I received little feedback about changes that need to be made, however, I know that I need to go back through my essay and adjust some things. I will add a few more sentences to each of my paragraphs, as they seem a bit short to me. My Editing Checklist has been very helpful when completing the last two essays. I like having the visual of things that I need to focus on while being able to check off my concerns. I will complete Essay #3 on Sunday evening. I usually complete my school work on Sunday evening so that I am prepared going into a new week. My plan is to go over my rough draft several times correcting each error while adding to my essay.

Even though I have not yet received feedback on the midterm, I truly believe that my plan helped me with success on the midterm. When I first read the three writing prompts, I immediately eliminated the topics that I did not feel confident writing about. After doing so, that led me to writing about a budget plan, which came pretty natural. First, I wrote down my thesis statement and each of the points that I would be writing about in the body paragraphs. I used my editing checklist to go over my thesis and make sure I had three well written points while also checking for any grammatical errors throughout the essay. Often, I get in a hurry and miss simple mistakes causing points to be deducted. At the moment, there are no changes that I want to make to my testing plan for the course final. Of course, that could change when I receive the midterm results. I believe that there is always room for improvement. I hope that my writing keeps improving, so that my course final is better than my midterm. Writing timed essays and untimed essays call for different writing techniques. Timed essays, you really only get the chance to perfect one final draft. When the essays are not timed, you are able to have a rough draft and receive feedback before completing the final draft. Overall, I liked untimed essays better, however, I feel that 90 minutes is plenty of time to write a 500 word essay.
